Towpath attacks at Hebden Bridge

THE police at Hebden Bridge want victims of towpath attacks, ot those witnessing them, to come forward after a spate of such attacks have been reported on social media.

The police have been receiving inquiries and have seen social media reports referring to incidents on the Rochdale Canal where people have been attacked, Alan Tilbury reports.

Number of incidents

A spokesman for the Calder Valley Neighbourhood Policing team has told that Calderdale officers have received a number of enquiries regarding reported incidents on the towpath of the canal in the Hebden Bridge and the surrounding area, adding:

.“We have not had any reports of incidents as described on social media reported to us and would urge any victims who have been attacked but not reported it to come forward so we can investigate and where appropriate, take action.”
