More Calder & Hebble open

MORE of the Calder & Hebble Navigation will be re-opened tomorrow (Thursday) that was damaged by the Boxing Day Floods.

The Figure of Three Locks will be re-opened, with the navigation then being open from Wakefield to Brighouse, Keith Gudgin tells us.

Low water

However there are still problems, especially with low water in some pounds, and boaters are advised to proceed with caution through the affected areas. Particularly affected will be the pounds between Kirklees Top and Kirklees Bottom locks.

And Cromwell Lock to Salterhebble Guillotine Lock is still closed due to the repairs to Elland and Cromwell bridges, part of the long-term bridge repairs.
