Cotswold Canals development

HOUSE builders on the derelict Cotswold Canals are realising the advantage of a restored waterway in boosting prices, and now there is a plan being put forward to build on waste ground by the side of the Cotswold Canals in Stroud.

The Cheltenham company, Newland Homes has plans for 33 apartments by the side of an old warehouse by the line of the waterway, with a promise of rebuilding a canal wall and future moorings, Alan Tilbury tells us.

Listed building

The warehouse, that is a listed building will include office space and an apartment, with the other apartments in a separate building, as pictured.

The proposal includes working with the Cotswold Canals Trust to improve an overgrown disused stretch of the former waterway, with a director of the company stating that the the 'contemporary design responds very much to its place'. [Whatever that means!]
