Day boat named after cancer victims

THE new day boat at Pillings Marina on the Soar has recently had her naming ceremony as Jo-Anne, named after two previous moorers at the marina.

Two wonderful ladies

Jo-Anne is dedicated to the memory of two wonderful ladies who enjoyed the waterways and moored their boats here at Pilling's Lock Marina—Jo Bingham and Anne Armstrong, writes Paul Lillie.

Both Ladies fought bravely against cancer but are very sadly no longer with us and as a fitting tribute we decided to name our new day boat after these two courageous women and ensure that every day-trip that customers make contributes a donation to Cancer Research in their memory.

Donating

We will be donating £5 from every day hire booking to Cancer Research UK at the end of each boating season (October annually) and if clients wish to make further donations they can use my Just Giving Page.
