Fire closes Staffs & Worcs

AN EXTENSIVE fire at Kidderminster yesterday by the Staffs & Worcs Canal has caused the waterway to be closed.
Such is its ferocity that the emergency services insist that the waterway will be closed over the entire week-end, Linda Andrews tells us.
The closure is between Falling Sands Lock and York Street, allowing the the emergency services to attend to the incident, but it is expected that the waterway will be open again on Monday.
