Cyclist towpath collapse

A MAN cycling along the towpath on the Staffs & Worcs Canal was seen to collapse and fall from his bike this morning (Thursday).
It was around 9.15am that the man fell off his bike near Oxley Marine, its owner, Orph Mable, tells us, adding:
"A man riding his bike on the towpath between Autherley Junction and Bridge 65 (Oxley Moor Bridge) was seen to collapse and fall off his bike.
"Assistance from moorers and staff at Oxley Marine Boatyard was immediately present and paramedics called. The paramedic and subsequent ambulance crew gave medical help on arrival. At this time, the prognosis does not look good."

It has been revealed that that man was pronounced dead on arrival at New Cross Hospital, Wolverhampton.
