POLICE are scouring Salterhebble Basin on the Calder & Hebble Navigation for the body of a woman who disappeared nine years ago.

Lisa Ambler was last seen in Halifax in August 2003, with a hunt then taking place, but new information has come to light, that has encouraged a further search of the basin and nearby railway arches, Alan Tilbury reveals.

New search

West Yorkshire police are undertaking the new search for anything that could lead them to solve the mystery of the woman who had not been seen since living rough in a tent with her boyfriend near the waterway.

A police spokesman told that it cannot be discounted that after all this time Lisa may well have come to some harm or sadly be dead.
