Regents now open

THE Oil spill on the Regents Canal was quickly cleared, not being as bad as first thought when the canal was closed.

The closure followed an oil spill from National Grid cables. British Waterways and the Environment Agency have advised and aided National Grid to ensure the clean up was quick and effective to minimise the environmental impact of the spill.

The speedy clean up resulted in the commercial boats, such as theĀ  trip boats operating between Camden and Little Venice, and leisure boats travelling to the Angel Canal Festival, to resume.

The towpath however does remain closed.
