Failing again
The bridge on the Llangollen Canal failing again, Keith Gudgin reports.
Making it out of action twice in four days! Last Thursday and again this Monday.
The Thursday failure was its barriers broken by a vehicle—the usual reason.
But the latest is still a vehicle strike, but this time the strike has caused damage to the timber support.
Assess extent of damage
We are told that the trust's local team have attended site to carry out an inspection and to assess the extent of the damage so a method of repair can be planned.
As we have suggested time and time again, it really is time CCTV was installed, as these strikes must be costing a serious amount om money.
