IT WAS ONLY YESTERDAY, that we reported the Erewash Canal closed again through lack of water.
Yet there is a new stoppage, Keith Gudgin reports.
The pounds closed through lack of water were from Lock 55 to Lock 57, but this has now been extended to include more pounds short of water.
New stoppage
The new stoppage extending from Eaton Lock 61 to Gallows Inn Lock 67.
We are told this is caused by the prolonged dry weather and lack of rainfall means the trust is struggling with low water levels.
