THE OXFORD CANAL IS CLOSED due to an unworkable lift bridge.

The problem is that it is stuck in the 'down' position, Keith Gudgin reports.

This is Mill Lift Bridge (205) near Lower Heyford, and the bridge cannot be lifted to allow navigation.

We are informed that engineers are expected today, Monday, to repair the fault with the bridge.
