THE GRANTHAM CANAL SOCIETY has been awarded £16,500 towards its restoration.
And the society is pleased that it has been successful in getting the award from Rushcliffe Borough Council from the West Bridgford Community Infrastructure Levy.
Western Base
It's application was for funding to equip the Western Base located at Morrison's' Gamston.
The award will vastly increase the scope of work that the Wednesday team will be able to do.
This, with a small workboat, means that they will be able to clear self sets on the offside of the canal. And is a great result and thanks to the fundraising team.
