A LOCK CLOSURE ON THE Kennet & Avon Canal has taken a month for it to be assessed.
The lock being closed to navigation as a gate would not close, Keith Gudgin reports.
It was on the 17th of January that Burghfield Lock 103 was closed to navigation with a problem with one of its gates.
Damage been assessed
And now, on the 17th March we are told 'the damage to the gate has now been assessed'.
The trust is preparing 'to mobilise to site to remove the lift gate and carry out the repair work'.
But there is no intimation when either the work will be started or completed, with the lock remaining unavigable.
