NEW TOP GATES HAVE at last been added to Lock 42 Marsworth Flight.
With a second pair of gates awaiting on a raft just below the lock, Howard Clarke reports.
These lock gates on the Grand Union lock (picture by Howard) were in a terrible condition and really needed replacing.
It is not known if these are for the bottom set of gates for the same lock, or further up the flight as other lock gates are in need of replacing.
Navigation closed obviously.
The towpath by the flight in a muddy mess at present with people walking on the grass by its side.
