THE STORT HAS BEEN CLOSED owing to the failure of electrics at one of the river's locks.

It is the electrics on Burnt Mill Lock 10 on the Stort where the electrics have failed. This causing the navigation to close.

There is no further information as to what is being done to rectify the problem.
Only that there will be more information once engineers have attended and investigated the issue.
There have been a number of recent stoppages on the river, on 18th July, 31st July, 13th October and 18th October in 2025.
The picture shows new gates being lowered into position when the lock was refurnished in March 2017.
