IT WAS ON THE 30TH NOVEMBER that Bar Lane Swing Bridge 197 on the Leeds & Liverpool Canal was closed.
The workers discovering there was two problems, Keith Gudgin reports.
These it has been discovered needed parts that are currently on order and expected to be available later this week.
Reopening could be delayed
But the reopening could be delayed as a road closure is required to carry out the work, that has to be arranged with the authorities.
Engineers will be in attendance, but not until early next week to review the problem, then perhaps be able to carry out the necessary repairs.
It remains closed to waterway traffic in the meantime.
