VANDALS HAVE RUINED a life-saving kit by a canal side.
A defibrillator kit that had been funded by Canal & River Trust volunteers over 12 months, has been ruined after it was ripped off its mounting and slung into the Coventry Canal, Roger Fox reports.
This life-saving equipment was situated at Atherstone Top Lock and thrown into the canal where water ruined it.
In case of emergency
The defibrillator was installed so that it could be used in case of an emergency, but to the volunteers' dismay it was discovered when arriving last Thursday morning that vandals had now prevented it ever being used to save a life.
The equipment was in its own cabinet, that the vandals broke into then slung it into the canal, having no thought whatsoever that it could save lives.
