CANAL & RIVER TRUST have just published flight restrictions that remains in place.

This, it tells is to reduce water demand and allow water levels to recover, with its priority being to reopen the canals to full navigation as soon as possible.

Flight still closed

The flights it tells are still restricted or closed:

Minworth and Curdworth on the Birmingham & Fazeley Canal.

Rushall Flight on the Rushall Canal.

Ryders Green Flight on The Walsall Canal.

Hatton Flight on the Grand Union Flight.

Atherstone Flight on the Coventry Canal.

Glasson Flight on the Lancaster Canal.

Wolverhampton Flight on the Old Main Line.

Many others

Of course there are many other flights that are at present closed to navigation such as the many on the Leeds & Liverpool, and others on the Leicester Section of the Grand Union including Foxton Flight. etc.

The trust tells it will continue to monitor the situation and will provide updates if conditions change.

Despite the measures it is taking, there may be extreme local circumstances that require it to take immediate action to temporarily close some stretches to navigation.
