The lock was not open as stated

IT WAS AMY DICKERSON who told us of her problems with cruising.

She spending 16 days cruising and five to six weeks hanging around by stoppages.

Stuck at Bevere Lock

Then being stuck at Bevere Lock on the Severn then at last getting the notice yesterday, Thursday, that it had opened that morning.

But it had not, so at 3pm she sent an email to Canal & River Trust that it was a pity they did not check their own webcam footage.

Having phoned the lock twice in the afternoon with no answer, she tells us, I can only conclude there is not a lock keeper on duty, adding that CRT really need to step up its performance because this lock closure started on the 16th March with no explanation as to why it was closed.

Fully operational

Yesterday a notice had been received from the trust stating 'we are pleased to advise that Lock 7, Bevere Lock has been repaired and is now fully operational.'

But it wasn't, it now telling it will be open at 8am today.
