Wood End Lift Bridge fails again

THERE CERTAINLY was a problem with swing and lift bridges on Wednesday.

For the Wood End Lift Bridge 24 has also failed again, Keith Gudgin reports.

This time boaters press the button on the lift bridge on the Peak Forest Canal and nothing happens.

Last failed

It was last month, the 15th January that it last failed it being told it was a problem with the motor, which it seems could be the same problem.

Canal & River Trust tell that 'Our specialist contractors have been informed and are due to attend tomorrow'.

Specialist contractors? Hopefully not the same as attended just over three weeks ago.

This lift bridge has had problems in the past, one taking many weeks to repair, closing the navigation as it was stuck in its lowered position.
