The Rochdale no longer closed through lack of water

IT WAS way back on 27th November that the Rochdale was closed through lack of water.

But after two major storms including downpours of rain it is finally reopened, Keith Gudgin reports.

The canal was closed 'due to low water levels' we were constantly told.

It is expected that other navigations such as the Leeds & Liverpool, Huddersfield Narrow and of course the Erewash will all now have plenty of water for navigation.
