Red weather warning closes Caen Hill Flight

A RED weather warning is closing the Caen Hill Flight all day today, Saturday.

Plus a warning to take care on the rest of the Kennet & Avon Canal, Keith Gudgin reports.

This is the result of the warning by the Met. Office for South West England due to the strong winds forecast to affect the area.

To ascertain if safe

For the safety of its colleagues and customers Canal & River Trust have taken the decision not to open Caen Hill Flight today, and to monitor the weather on Saturday afternoon to ascertain if safe to open on Sunday.

It advises careful assessment of the Kennet & Avon navigation conditions prior to any boating this weekend.
