Stolen boat was left unattended for five months
A NARROWBOAT stolen from the Grand Union Canal had been moored unattended for five months.
With the police now asking for towpath users to look-our for the 50ft boat, Roger Fox reports.
Asking towpath users
The police are asking for towpath users to help find the stolen narrowboat. stating:
“The direction of travel is believed to have been towards Stratford. The narrowboat was undergoing slight exterior works, which means the name on the side had been temporarily removed, so the boat will not be identifiable by means of name, however the markings and rework pattern are unique.
“If you are out on a walk of a local canal and see this boat please ring 101 quoting 23/48472/24, with an exact location, preferably with a what3Words location, so that we can attend to identify the boat and conduct the relevant checks and investigation.”
The boat named Gyrafalcon was taken some time between June and October from the Grand Union Cape Bottom Lock with the Cape Pub shown in the background.
