Ouse blocked until heavy equipment available

A LARGE tree is blocking the Ouse preventing navigation.

This is far too large to be manhandled so its removal is awaiting the arrival of lifting equipment, Keith Gudgin reports.

The  fallen tree is between Naburn Large Lock and Selby Rail Bridge on the river.

Making it difficult

It is owing to the nature of the area and the fast flowing of the river that is making this a difficult undertaking, so the navigation remains closed.

Nothing will be known until an update next Monday 2nd September.
