Swing bridge not so reliable

ONCE again the 'Wink is on the Blink!

The Winkwell Swing Bridge 147 on the Grand Union is out of order, Keith Gudgin reports.

Take your pick

This time we are told it is 'structural damage' and also told it is an 'electrical fault' that has stopped the bridge working—so take you pick.

But whichever it is, it is happening all too often.

It was out of order, with the navigation closed, on the 7th May, then again on 8th June then yet again on the 13th June.

It is rather obvious that it is long overdue for a good overhaul.
