Popular Coventry Basin café suddenly closes

THE Playwrights Café by Coventry Basin closed last weekend without any warning.

There was no information on the cafe's Facebook page, Instagram account or update to the answering machine message, just a 'temporarily closed' message on Google, Roger Fox reports.

The café advertises itself as a 'local independent café located in the heart of Coventry's Canal Basin, serving breakfast and lunch'.

Will reopen

But though no reason has been given for its closure, it is understood that it will reopen, that will be a relief to its many customers as it is an independent café located in the heart of Coventry's Canal Basin, serving breakfast and lunch.

It has a good reputation with a five-star rating on Tripadvisor.
