When we began boating in the early 1980s there was a company 'The Electric Boat Company' who had an electric hire narrowboat which used to ply the Avon Ring.
Number of locations
I assume that there were a number of locations around the ring where the boat could moor and charge. I think that the hire base was in Evesham or Worcester.
It was a novelty at the time but the Avon at Stratford now has a whole fleet of electric day boats which moor near Clopton Bridge.
