Three more swing bridges have failed over the past week on the Leeds & Liverpool Canal.

Booths Swing Bridge (195) will not operate, so can obviously not be used until engineers attend. No specific reason is given for its failure, Keith Gudgin reports.

MilmanSwingBridgeGeoNeither will Millman Swing Bridge (214) operate, (pictured) but this time it is due to an electrical fault. In this case contractors are due to attend.

Fault with batteries

The other swing bridge that has failed is Crabtree Swing Bridge, and this time a new  reason/excuse is given—a fault with its batteries.

These are not the only stoppages on the Leeds & Liverpool Canal as a cill needs replacing on Wigan Flight that usually takes weeks to replace.
