No gate paddles there!

HERE is another fine example of CaRT sending out silly notices, writes Roger Fox.

Since when have any locks on the Grand Union North have had gate paddles? About 90 years is the answer!

Claims it has

But its stoppage notice claims it has, telling it needs to extend its works at Lock 29 as it has been identified that several paddles need to be changed on the gates.

But they are all ground paddle as many of you will be aware—but not alas, those who really should know and inform us of the stoppages.

However it is hoped to be completed this month.
