Barton Marina taken over

BARTON Marina on the Trent & Mersey Canal has been taken over by Lakeland Leisure Estates.

This increases its ownership to the five already acquired together with parks and camping sites in Spain.

Free roam system

As with other such owners it is allowing the 'free roam' system, whereas moorers from any of its marinas have free moorings at another, with its Managing Director, Mark Morgan telling:

"I look forward to meeting Barton boat owners over the coming weeks; myself and the management team will be on-site regularly should you have any queries. A programme of improvement works are scheduled to include anti-slip grid-mesh walkways on the pontoons, modernisation of toilets and showers."

There will be the addition of a chandlery, and the introduction of Lakeland Leisure Boat Sales.

The contributor tells that he hopes  the new owners are better than ABC Leisure who took over Kings Orchard Marina from Pridewater!
