'Cox on the rocks' once again

THE Leeds & Liverpool Swing Bridge, Coxhead, is 'on the rocks' once more.

Once again the excuse/reason of 'damage' is being used—'due to a damaged component affecting operation of the bridge'.

Broken belt

Yet all it is is a broken belt that needs replacing. So hardly 'damaged'—simply worn-out, that most likely should have been replaced earlier should the contractors have realised.

This occurred last Friday, but a later notice stating a replacement belt has been delivered, possibly means the bridge was opened for the week-end, though no such notice has been posted.
