Network Rail restricts Keadby bridge to once a day operation

Published: Wednesday, 10 August 2022

FROM the twice daily operation of Keadby Rail Draw Bridge Network Rail has reduced it to just one operation a day.

From this coming Saturday, 10th August, the bridge will be opened for boats to pass at 9am only, Keith Gudgin reports.

The trust has no jurisdiction

This of course is out of the hands of Canal & River Trust that has no jurisdiction on Network Rail infrastructures.

The reason for the further closure of the bridge from Network Rail is that 'due to the weather forecast it will only be able to operate Keadby Canal bridge once a day'!

For boaters this means they can be stuck for a day at Keadby should the Trent tide get them there at the 'wrong' time.
