The trust gets its priorities right over Netherton Tunnel

THE Canal & River Trust has backed down over the usage of  Netherton Tunnel on the 4th June.

It had allowed paddle-boarders to use the tunnel the same day it had been booked for the annual Birmingham Canal Navigations Society's annual 24 Hours Challenge, so stopping the challenge, Keith Gudgin reports.

But the trust has now had the paddle-boarders' event moved to the time of 1.30pm to 3.30pm—just two hours, leaving the tunnel available for the challenge out of these times on the 4th June, for which many boaters are taking part.

The trust thanks those who've pointed out this oversight and it would like to apologise for all concern caused.
