Another arrest over trust's worker's killing

A FURTHER arrest has been made over the killing of the Canal & River Trust worker.

In addition to the 34 years old man, a 41 years old woman from Birmingham was also arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and perverting the course of justice.

Unable to resusticate

It was on Monday that the trust's worker, who was on duty on the Grand Union Canal towpath near Broughton in Aylesbury, was attacked, with paramedics unable to resuscitate him.

Of the death, Richard Parry, Chief Executive of Canal & River Trust told:

"We are deeply distressed and are sharing the police's appeal urging anyone with information, no matter how insignificant, to come forward and assist the investigation.

"I am sure you will join me in offering our thoughts and sincerest condolences at this extremely distressing time for his family and our colleagues."

Thames Valley Police have not yet named anyone involved, but are asking for any witnesses to come forward.
