Ready for the swing bridge failures

IT WOULD seem that Canal & River Trust is ready for the Leeds & Liverpool swing bridge failures this year.
For when Crabtree Swing Bridge (32) on the canal failed on Wednesday it was back in operation the following day, Thursday, Keith Gudgeon reports.
Usual failures
Crabtree is one of the usual failures on the Leeds & Liverpool Canal, and the moment lockdown on the waterways ends there will be a rush of the boats that have been held captive, and hiring as possibly never seen before as foreign holidays will be so difficult.
It is only hoped that all the current stoppages over the system will be made good in time and that it will hold up to such expected usage.
