Boater missing after falling into the Lee Navigation

A BOATER who fell from his narrowboat last night into the Lee Navigation has still not been found this morning.

It was at 7pm last night, 6th January, that the emergency services were alerted to the missing man, after a fellow boater heard a splash and was then unable to locate the man, Keith Gudgin reports.

Searching

Specialist marine police officers instigated a search of the river with the team searching the area where the boater disappeared.

This was near the Prince of Wales pub in Lower Clapton with the search later conducted down river from the boat.

No body discovered

The search was called off during the night and commenced at 7am this morning and is ongoing, but no body had been discovered by 10am it was reported.
