A SWING Bridge is out of action on the Leeds & Liverpool Canal, but with conflicting reasons of its cause.

The navigation is closed at Maghull Hall Swing Bridge with Canal & River Trust telling that it was caused by vandalism, but later that it was caused by a vehicle strike, Keith Gudgin reports.

Parts being sourced

Whatever, but we are told that parts are having to be sourced before it can be put back in action, with no date given.

The barrier boom was damaged in the vandalism/strike and needs replacing.
