Pillings Flood Lock now operational

THOUGH there are flood warnings for Loughborough issued this morning (Monday) Pillings Flood Lock has obviously been repaired and closed.

Our Alan Tilbury, at present at the hotel overlooking the basin, tells us that the waterway is normal, though reports indicate that Cossington further up the Soar is flooded.

More rain

In addition to the rain yesterday, more rain is forecast with up to 90% precipitation forecasted for the area over today and Tuesday, with properties now in the process of being evacuated.
