Warning of low bridge

GARETH Haines had a similar experience of the Droitwich to mine, [low bridge] with the advantage of three years growth, writes Paul Burke. However, a low bridge is better than no bridge at all, and perhaps we could persuade the lovers of that canal (impoverished though they may be with public money withdrawn) to put some height gauges, simple gantries with waving danglers, to warn boaters about how low it will be when they reach the M5.

Something a bit like they have done on the Caldon to warn about the Froghall Tunnel.

We can't do anything about the 'wild-lifers', they are a protected species, but the new concrete locks work a treat.
