Limehouse restrictions

WE ARE told by British Waterways Marinas Ltd, that there is emergency water saving in place at Limehouse Lock, with restrictions now in force.

The lock, that connects the Regent's Canal with the tidal Thames will not now operate for three hours either side of low water, in an attempt to save water.

Stay in place

Kevin Wiles tells us that this measure will stay in place until further notice.

Limehouse Marina, situated at the end of the Regent's Canal above the lock, relies on water from the canal, with Limehouse Lock needing a great deal of water to operate when the Thames is at low tide.
