A WOMAN was sexually assaulted whilst she was out running on the towpath of the Leeds & Liverpool Canal in Leeds.

This happened near St Ann's Ing Lock in the city, when a man came up behind and  assaulted her with the ensuing struggle causing her to fall, with the man putting his arms around her neck and she losing consciousness.

Caught on CCTV

She came to behind a wall in time to see the man climbing back over the wall and running off along the towpath, but he was caught on nearby CCTV.

The police are interested in speaking to anyone either using the towpath or the waterway and seeing anything that could be connected with the attack at 6am on the 10th of June.
