Montgomery closed

ASTON Locks on the Montgomery Canal have sprung a leak, and though Canal & River Trust state that a temporary repair has been made, the waterway is still stated as being closed.

The workers are monitoring this repair to see if it holds, with an update expected tomorrow, Friday, Keith Gudgin tells us.

Wash wall

The leak has developed in the off-side wash wall between Locks 1 & 2.

Frankton Locks off the Llangollen Canal are still open, so there is navigation up to Queens Head.
