Taking part in national event

THE Wool Boat, Emma Maye, is joining the second National Yarn Shop Day, moored at Rode Heath on the Trent & Mersey Canal, where the owners will be offering their wares.

Taking place on May 2nd, in stores across the county, the event organised by Let's Knit and Let's Get Crafting is a bid to celebrate Britain's independent wool shops, with Colin and Carole taking part in the event on their narrowboat on the Trent & Mersey Canal.

Invitation

They have cruised down from their winter moorings on the Leeds & Liverpool Canal, with co-owner Carole Waring offering the invitation for people to visit the boat, explaining:

"We're very happy to be taking part, and whether you are a crochet expert, novice knitter, or just fancy trying out a new craft, don't miss Yarn Shop Day.

For the day we will be making a feature of British produced yarns. We'll have yarns spun from wool from British sheep, commercially produced by West Yorkshire spinners from Keighley, Woolly knits from Dingle, and yarns from a couple of independent spinners.

Get involved

They are looking forward to welcoming customers old and new aboard the Wool Boat, and hope all local knitters and crocheter's will come and get involved.

The Wool Boat will be open at Rode heath for the three days of the Bank Holiday weekend, open from 10am to 5pm daily.
