Boater drowns at Cowroast Marina

THOUGH a boater was rescued after falling into Cowroast Marina at Tring on the Grand Union Canal, he could not be resuscitated.

The emergency services were quickly at the scene, but were unable to save the man who it is reported was trapped beneath a boat after he fell, Howard Clarke tells us.

This happened last Thursday afternoon, with the emergency services called when the man, in his 40's was seen in the water, with fire fighters pulling him out of the water and applying resuscitation, and the ambulance people also unable to save him.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene, with Herts Police commenting that the death is not being treated as suspicious, with the case being been passed on to the coroner.
