The end of continuous cruising actually occurred the moment Canal & River Trust's previous guise ie British Waterways started issuing continuous cruising licences to people with jobs and children of school age.

The fact is (whether we like it or not) these people are never going to be able to continuous cruise within the spirit of that particular licence and are just 'Taking the Michael' to achieve a cheaper way of living on a boat
