Puppets on the L&L

BOATERS are being surprised at the crew of one particular narrowboat travelling on the Leeds & Liverpool Canal.

For they are giant puppets, created by the Liverpool charity Another Place, 11 feet tall and giving short performances wherever the boat stops along the waterway, Alan Tilbury tells us.

First World War anniversary

They then give a show about reconciliation and forgiveness, 13 in all at venues by the canal to mark the anniversary of the First World War, with Another Place Creative Director Annie Spiers, explaining the purpose is to remember the people who sacrificed.
