Choir in Dudley Tunnel caverns

Published: Wednesday, 16 April 2014

A MALE voice choir is to sing in the caverns in Dudley Tunnel, with a wide range of music from traditional choral music to more modern songs from the shows.

It will be the local Cradley Heath Male Voice Choir that will perform there this May, with a concert at 7.30pm on Saturday 17th May with the price of £10.80 that includes a cruise in and out of the tunnel in one of Dudley Canal Trust's electric tunnel boats.

Other events

The choir's concert is one of a programme of events taking place in the tunnel this year; other events include a gothic drama evening, a screening of the 1920s silent classic Phantom of the Opera with live musical accompaniment and the annual Santa boats.

June Hodgetts, General Manager enthused:

"We're thrilled to be welcoming Cradley Heath Male Voice Choir to perform in our 'Singing Cavern'. Live choral music sounds especially good in our underground tunnels, so we look forward to welcoming audiences to the show for an experience they won't soon forget."

Tickets are available from the Dudley Canal Trust Trips offices in person or by calling 0121 557 6265.
