Child drowns in Thames

A FIVE years old boy has died after being discovered in the Thames.

The Metropolitan Police launched an appeal to find Daniel Alaby, after he went missing from his home in Thamesmead, south-east London.

The child had been found in the water and was taken to hospital in a 'critical condition' but alas was  pronounced dead.

The police stated there was no evidence to suggest any other person was involved. Officers had administered CPR at the scene before paramedics took the child to hospital.

Inquiries are under way to establish the circumstances of the death with Daniel's family having been made aware and  supported by officers.
