Safe haven is not a priority
IT WOULD seem that safe havens on a tidal river are not a priority.
For something else has priority over the repair of the safe haven it seems, as the crane needed for the repair to the moorings at Dunham on the tidal Trent is required elsewhere, Keith Gudgin reports.
Unusable
It was way back in the floods of early January that the moorings were so badly damaged that they were unusable, so no safe moorings for any boaters in the rushing flood waters of a tidal river, though in flood time after time over the past weeks. The image is of the important safety moorings as we cruised past in calmer times.
It was the 12th of January that the moorings were closed—leaving no safe haven on the tidal Trent at Dunham for over eight weeks.
What price 'safety is out greatest concern?'.... Obviously not on the tidal Trent!
