Marina bought day before auction

FENNY Marina that was due to be sold at auction was snapped-up the day before.

Crafted Boats Ltd, offered £1.1m before the planned auction last Thursday (8th February) that was accepted by the marina owners, Roger Fox reports.

Bought by family owned company

FennyComptonMarinaCrafted Boats Ltd is a family-owned company of boat builders and repairers that is based in Bromsgrove.

The marina, that is on the Oxford Canal at Fenny Compton, has 85 berths, living quarters, boat services and outbuildings.

Property agents Bond Wolfe told that there was such strong interest from potential buyers that it sold for £1.1m before the planned auction last Thursday.

Aaron Pinder, a director of Crafted Boats Ltd, explained:

Improving the facility

“Our plan for the marina is to continue to operate the mooring and services but to look at improving the facility.

“We will also be offering, as we do at our other sites, repaint jobs, hull and top side work, grit blasting and epoxy coating, pressure wash and blacking, plus engine repairs, to name just a few of our services.”

Fenny Marina, that had a guide price of £950,000, was built in the 70s that contains a  separate dry dock business that pays £1,250 in rent per month to the marina.
